TRW's cold gas ROI inflator was a first-to-market innovation that provides inflation characteristics tailored for rollover curtain airbag systems.  TRW continues to refine the performance and packaging characteristics for this important product with the introduction of the SHI2 warm gas inflator.   These curtain airbag modules combine improved restraint performance along with a reduced package size and weight.  Due to the flexible module concept this innovative and lightweight technology can be tailored to meet customer requirements.  The warm hybrid gas allows the rollover curtain airbags to stay inflated for several seconds, an important consideration as rollover crashes can be longer events than front or side impacts.
