Advanced Vehicle Dynamics
TRW has functionally integrated Active Dynamic Control, Electronic Stability Control, Active Front Steering and Active Control Retractor. The purpose is to improve the overall vehicle performance regarding vehicle dynamics and safety. Control conflicts can be avoided with integration technology and existing functionalities can be enhanced.
Based on a common computer model, ESC calculates the safety relevant roll moment distribution and delta-steering angle in order to ensure optimum driving and vehicle stability. At the same time, the ESC intervention can be delayed, its occurrence reduced and its pressure decreased.
TRW´s Active Dynamic Control is a family of advanced suspension systems designed to enhance ride, comfort, agility and safety across a broad range of vehicle platforms. This demonstrator vehicle is equipped with an ADC system for the front and rear axle.
Dependent on the vehicle state the hydraulic pressure is controlled in order to improve the body roll angle of the vehicle while improving the comfort behavior. Furthermore, the agility is enhanced while improving the safety behavior at higher velocities and lateral acceleration. The hydraulic power supply is realized with TRW´s latest generation of Motor-Pump-Unit. The MPU can be controlled/powered independently of the combustion engine. This reduces pressure loss and delivers fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.
TRW´s second generation of reversible seatbelt pretensioning system, the ACR2 has enhanced functionality. The situation management is integrated within the ESC ECU hard- and software.
